Courtney Gendard,
MT-BC/Director
Courtney was born and raised in Morton, IL where she found her love for music. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Illinois State University in 2017, Courtney completed a six month internship in St. Louis working in hospice.
In 2018, Courtney began her professional career as a board certified - music therapist, contracting with nursing facilities while working a job that did not involve music therapy. After a year, Courtney decided to take what contracts she had and turned it into a business - Note By Note Music Therapy, LLC.
As of August 1st, 2022, Note By Note Music Therapy will have a home location in Washington, IL. Courtney is so excited to be expanding this business to offer music therapy services, piano lessons, music groups and more!
Outside of work, Courtney and her husband, Mike live in Washington with their two dogs, Denver and Cheyenne.
Julie Engelsdorfer
Julie recently graduated with her Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from Illinois State University with a focus in Vocal Music. In November 2023 she completed a six month internship through VA Iliana Heath Care Systems in Danville, Illinois, where she experienced working with veterans in residential memory care and psychosocial rehabilitation.
Julie started her musicking journey at 7 years old when she began studying Suzuki Violin method and has since adde voice, piano, and guitar skills to her toolkit. Julie was drawn to a career in music therapy because it allows her to share her skills and bring joy to a wide variety of clients. Julie is delighted to be joining Note By Note and looks forward to making music with you!
